They have AC, believe me they are a part of the Union...The Union does not allow a truck to go out that doesn't have working AC...Part of the contract

I feel sorry for all route drivers, as those kinds of trucks are no frills, rough riding, and just plain terrible. One of my best friends drives a route for a company that does uniforms, floormats, towels, etc. and their trucks are pretty much the same as what UPS uses. Sweltering in the summer because of no A/C, and freezing in the winter because, although they have heaters, the constant opening/closing of the doors sucks all the heat away. Not the most pleasant job to be sure.

They do a lot of stop and go driving and not to mention that they drive a little on the wild side - I hear they have a quota of packages to deliver. Those trucks are airy enough and besides the money they make is probably worth it.

Actually.. with all the in and out of the truck, they're better off not having A/C.. if they had it, the temperature changes are much harder on the body than consistent temps. So long as they stay hydrated, they're probably more comfortable than you when you go out from your air conditioned house.

Oh yeah. They should have A/C. So should the Postal folks. Well lets say all delivery people should have A/C.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to drive around in heat and humidity. However, those who continually get in and out of air conditioned vehicles in very hot and humid weather can get colds and sore muscles from getting out of the cold into the heat, then sweating and back into the cold.
