I have an exam tomorrow in absorvational art (you know when you've gotta draw fruits/jugs/cloths in front set in front of you)! It's an entrance exam to my University's Art and Design Department. I'm so nervous! Any art tips?

one thing i was taught that i wil always remember for observational studies, draw only what you see, objects do not have a black outline around them, beware of perspective, use guides if possible, and squint often to check your tonal values. you'll look strange in the process, but you'll make some magic in the end. Try to draw the negative spaces without focusing on the actual objects to closely. This will help you to draw the proportions and relative sizes more accurately. After you've sketched the basic shapes start working on the larger details. Keep your gummy eraser handy for refining the smaller details. Remember that everything you see is composed of shades of gray. There is no such thing as color...only tone.

my best advice to you would be DONT GO TO ART SCHOOL! IT RAPES YOU OF YOUR NATURAL TALENT. i learnt how to draw/paint/sculpt based upon feeling bone structures shapes and textures
