This is one of my pet hates. One of the best ways to deal with these situations, is to listen and keep your cool. Let the person ramble on and on.

What ever you do ! Do not give the person a reaction that will ignite an argument. This just adds fuel to the fire and the person may even get satisfaction from you reacting in this manor. Remember if you know who you are and give across your feelings towards the confrontation. The n the person will listen to you. But don't forget. Do not answer the person back while they are rambling on. Just refrain yourself for a little while. Then say perhaps "well I view it a little differently" Be sure to say it with true wisdom and believe in what you are saying. The person will listen and will take what you are saying.
That way you will feel heard. Even if the opponent is not correct. At least you can look at yourself and feel well accomplished and heard. Also reflect back to the person exactly what he or she said and that way the person will also feel that you looked at the situation from there point of view. Good Luck.

I hate when older people completely discount children's thoughts and opinions. I'm not a "kid" myself, I'm a 19 year old college sophomore, but I work with kids a lot and notice that sometimes, especially if a child is very young or difficult to understand, he or she is ignored. Just because children are smaller and have less life experience than adults doesn't mean that they're somehow less human. A lot of the time when I'm babysitting or teaching Sunday School, I'm amazed at the ideas and questions kids have and at the intricate worlds they create when they play.

No. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If someone is entitled to make a bad decision, why isn't someone else entitled to disrespect that decision?

Yes! I have witnessed a husband belittling his wife in front of their friends. I hope he feels mighty by doing this because he looks like a "mighty big ***" to me. No one has the right to disrespect anyone. Anyone ever here do onto others as you wish them to do onto you?

Yeah. Disrespect is a sign of disregard. Unnecessary.

Sometimes. I try to be respectful of everyone, so I kind of expect others to behave the same way. Some people are just set in their ways and don't know how to just be quiet.

I can take and understand disagreements but to outwardly disrespect a person because of his/hers beliefs is very bad.

Not really. I'f I don't have an opinion about the matter, im just observing.

Example: People who hate Jews. I just don't get it. I'm not a Jew so it doesn't bother me. I'm just curious why people hate them so much. It's silly.

Everyone deserves respect irrespective of their status or ideas. It's part of human dignity. Whoever betrays this rule is a selfish & arrogant animal.
