Welll, why didn't you ask your doctor what that meant? That would have been your best choice.

CONGRATS on having a baby!!

The baby's in birthing position early. My son was too & was born on Nov 12 almost 10 years ago. He spent 3 days in the NICU NOT for being head down early but for aspirating fluid as he was being born. After 24 hours in the regular nursery, he came home & is just fine now. Unless the doctor says something's wrong, don't stress it. Stress isn't good for you or your baby.

Baby is probley just comfy that way. My fist daughter(now 6) used to lay head down aswell. She would put her feet up under my left ribs and kick me. It doesn't mean your little one is actually dropped down into the birth canal.
My second daughter ( now 2 ) was head under ribs and feet down at my last check up before delivery. I was worried to death I would need a c-section.But she turned herself around in 2 days and all was well. Don't worry.
However, you should feel really comfortable with the OBGYN and feel okay asking him what this means. I always took my BFF with me at my appointments. After exam I would rejoin her and the Doc and if he said something I missed or didn't understand she had no problem speaking up and asking questions. Its always good to tagteam and have support.

The only thing I can think of is that the baby gets in the birth canal and slowly comes down for delivery. I didn't think it took three months..........Also the baby has to turn a certain number of times before it is born. My baby didn't turn the correct amount of times and doctor couldn't make her move, she was born breech because of the turning.

I am not trying to be rude, but why didn't you ask him?

Your doctor may have told your that your baby's head is down... but all that means is that the head is pointing down instead of up or lying on its side.
Nothing to worry about unless your doctor says that there is.

Babies go from "sitting" upright to "standing" on their heads. She/He is not ready but she/he is in position before she/he gets too big to turn around. It's natures way of preparing for his/her big entrance.

babys do tend to live upside down in the womb. It doesn't mean they are ready to come out!
