If you are referring to the many folds and crevices, bot the brain and intestines require a lot of blood flow (oxygen, nutrients) to perform correctly.
The brain consumes the most energy of all of our bodily organs. Thus, by folding over numerous times, it has much exposed surface area - more points where blood vessels can interact and deliver the needed nutrients and oxygen.
Similarly, after eating a meal, the intestines requires a lot of blood flow to deliver water (used to hydrolyze the larger proteins, triglycerides, and sugars) and oxygen to break down food into its molecular components. Thus, by folding over, and containing villi and microvilli - smaller offshoots of the intestine's interior - the organ maximizes surface area for its size, enabling much greater biological activity.

The brain is wrinkled on the outside, because the goal was to maximize the amount of gray matter that could be place on a limited surface.
The small intestine is an overlapping tube, so it appears to look similar. Really, the intestine is trying to fit a great deal of length into a limited area, because the longer the pathway is, the more the products inside can be broken down to allow removal of nutrients.

They do not look similar at all in terms of shape, or in anyway, in my opinion. If, however, you are refering to the surfaces, that's another matter.
The folds in the surface of our brain and intestines (called villi) is to increase the surface area and thus the capacity. In the brain, the folds creates more neurons, which translates into more brain power; in the intestine, they increase the surface area to absorb nutrients from the food.

thats just cause half of your brain is missing,I mashed the other half up and stretched it out then loosely rolled it up and put it back so it fits better inside your head, but you are right it does resemble your intestines now minus the fecal material, your brain has pungent juices inside of it now, smells a little worse

It looks that way to you because of the close proximity. Remove head and look around.

they don't, really.
I've seen brains up close and personal (and held them in my hands).
but if you think so, then I guess one answer would be that they are both internal organs, comprised of similar (sort of) tissue....
my answer isn't funny.
sorry.
