Personally this is crap, so many of the victims families asked them not to make these movies. I think those opinions over all opinions should have been respected. Second, if they were going to make it why in the heck not just make one movie? Of course they cannot do that since the two studios PARAMOUNT (world trade Center) and UNIVERSAL (united 83) are both profiting from these JOINT ventures. Both films are distributing by United International Pictures a company that is a spin off company of Paramount and Universal. I think it is what those companies have done this to the families is a shame. It is a shame because if even one family told them they were not ready for this they should have been respected.

Oh yeah, Dreamworks is also a part of UIP.

Oh and don't believe in everything they tell you about people participating in the filming of these movies. I know for a fact they did not get the "blessings" they say they got for United 93 and some of the people who actually worked on set of World Trade Center say they changed everything once it was ready for theatres and are quite angry by this fact.

But seriously, this is one of those things that they should have full blessings by all involved.

First off, it's United Flight 93, not 83.

Second, I've heard that some families ACTUALLY wanted those movies to me made. The two Port Auhority officers portrayed in WTC actually colaborated with the creators of that movie, and were on site almost every day of filming.

Some may be unhappy with it, but others are. I think that the companies wanted to make movies about that tragic event, but they're not trying to idolize it. Yes, they will make money, but if that's wrong, I guess John Wayne shouldn't have made all those WWI movies, should he?

[EDIT] What they changed about WTC was the pitch. They tweaked the slogan & played the trailer in areas where it would appeal to Teens and Conservatives.

Lets remember something before I go on a rant. We are ALL victims. Not all of us had family or friends that were killed, but we as a nation are victims. In order to get passed this, we must face what happened that tragic day.

As far as the movie World Trade Center is concerned, almost everyone talks bad about this movie. This was a GREAT movie and the two officers that were portrayed on this movie were there for filming almost everyday (from what I hear). This movie had the backing of the 2 families that were prtrayed in this one story. These movies need to be made to get thru this the best we know how. If you dont agree with it or are not ready to see movies based on the events of this TRAGIC day then dont go. No one is forcing you to go.

And whats wrong with the studios and actors making money from this? If they would have had involvement in the attacks then that would have been wrong. Many people in these question and answers have been saying that they watched such and such a show on A & E, and just last night I watched a documentary on the Biography channel of the life of the WTC Twin Towers and I have seen things on the Discovery Channel. That is 3 cable channels airing various shows on the subject matter of the WTC. Is it wrong for those channels to do that? There making money on those shows.. Why is everyone singling out the motion picture studios. Making money off of tragedies is the way it has been for a long time. Does anyone remember a movie called Pearl Harbor????? My grandfather was there and he did not survive. My family sure remembers that day and I went to see that movie. Does the movie Schindlers List ring a bell?? And kudos to the person that mentioned John Wayne. He made tons of money doing movies about WWII. How about Saving Private Ryan. Based on one of the worst battles in the history of our great nation. I hate to go on, but I think the battle of Gettysburg really happened and there was a mini series done about that.

Its a sad day when people get more upset about the making of movies then the actual events they portray.

Oh and shame on your for not knowing the correct flight number, its not Flight 83 it is Flight 93. Have you already forgotten?????

Thank you and godbless all of you.....

I saw a documentary on A&E narrorated by Keifer Sutherland about the heroes of that tragic flight and it involved the families of the passengers giving feedback and telling the events as they happened and I found it quite sad and proud at the same time that heroes are not just in comic books and movies they are all of us.
NO ONE should capitalize on human suffering, it is a disgusting thing. If a story should be told then let it be told by survivers and the families who lost their loved ones. Tell the story of the courageous people who lost their lives as my uncle who was an officer did on that day. It is hard to make tragedy seem exciting.
SO A BIG THUMBS DOWN to those who stand to profit from the sacrifice and loss that still affects so many.

It's hard to say. I personally didn't have any family killed in the tragedy so I don't know how they feel about these. It's such an important part of America's recent history, I think it is almost impossible to avoid a movie or production about the subject. It has to be portrayed correctly. I do think that any profits from the movies should be donated to the building of the memorial monument.

I agree 100%. It was said somewhere that some of the money made will go to the families of the victims in which case i think that is commendable as they didn't have to say that. But i do feel that they won't report the events as it happened, they will fabricate things to make it a sob story. The events of 9/11 were tragic and i feel the memory of those who died should be respected, not used to make money.

Way to soon for both those movies. Wish they would have waited at least 5 more years.
