I think he has 30 days to respond to being served by acknowledging the divorce settlement, signing it and filing it at the court from which is indicated...then depending on the courts scheduling it get reviewed and if everything is in order ,granted...took me about six months from submitting acknowledgment.

It all depends if the divorce is uncontested and you can work with your ex it should go quickly. If contested could takes years. I filled 9/04 and still waiting for the court date 12/06. I don't know when it will end. Sometimes I think the lawyers look at the financial statements and ends it when the money is out of both of you.

Patience is a virtue, dear. There are lots of factors. How hard the lawyers work; whether or not the person you are divorcing is cooperative, court schedules, etc., etc. Hang in there, and talk to your lawyer. Good luck, God Bless.

Oh, it took me over two years. Well worth the wait, though.

A divorce can take a very very long time depending on the parties involved. Once parties agree or the judge orders the divorce the actual papers only take a few days.

Well it really depends on a lot of things , like the state you live in, what the assets are ( bank accounts, IRA, 401K's etc, real estate) Children of the marriage, and of course most importantly if he has any dispute over any of the things you are or not asking for in the divorce papers.

I thought it only took 60 days from the time you go to court. I'd call my lawyer and ask, you might already be divorced and don't know it.

You need to call your attorney ASAP and see what the status of the case is. It shouldn't take this long. You should have heard something by now.

First you need to find out if your soon to be ex signed them. If he has not signed them, then you will need to talk to your lawyer.
