Im a 35 year old man and would always give up my seat to somebody who is pregnant, disabled or old. BUT!!!
The other day i was sitting on the tube and it was full up. A rather good looking young lady got on and stood in front of me in the gangway.
We had eye contact and as i was about to ask her if she wanted my seat she beat me and asked if she could sit as she was pregnant. "Yes of course you can" i said.
I think she asked me as everyone else hides behind a paper or pretends not to look at you. You know the type.
After i gave her the seat i stood for 2 or 3 stops but got thinking to myself that she didnt look at all pregnant. So after a while i asked her "so how long have you been pregnant then?" The reply was " about an hour"
What do you think of that?

You are a true gentleman and she is a terrible person. I'm sorry that someone would be so messed up like that. At least you can go to sleep at night and now you are a good person.
I've been pregnant 5 times and not very many people are proper like you.
She's a bad bad person, shame on her.

I work on the principle that if someone looks older or iller than I do and needs a seat, then I'll willingly give it up - if they don't then, hey, I got there first!

And looking pregnant counts as needing a seat more than I do.

I once gave up my seat on a bus to make space for a little old lady who was obviously too hot and very tired, and was absolutely incensed when a chubby young woman promptly sat down in the space I'd just vacated. I tore her off a strip, cross that I'd have kept the seat if the elderly lady wasn't having it, and said as much... the little old lady got her seat...

;)

I have to say, I'm always pleased and reassured when a gentleman gives me his seat, but more often than not, I get upset and disappointed that I'm usually more gentleman than any of the lads out there on public transport! Chivalry is dead! (or not very well at least...)

I give up my seat for pregnant ladies and old people. I was on the bus the other day, it was completely packed and an old man with two walking sticks got on. I stood up and offered him my seat, and his answer 'I am not old enough yet for a beautiful young lady to give up her seat!' (I am in my 30's and after a heavy day in the office far from beautiful!) Anyway his really loud rebuke embarrassed several people on the bus and several men who had hid behind newspapers stood up and offered him a seat, I took my seat quite sheepishly.

where have all the gentlemen gone?

As for being pregant for an hour, I know several women who have used that excuse. Disgusting eh!

Yes, i would give my seat, but only if the woman is on a critical time of pregnance, like if she looks like she is some 5 months pregnant, else NO way i'll enjoy the seat all by myself, but all ladies pls dont mind, i am not getting harsh on u, think if a tierd guy stands infront of u on a tube would u give ur seat 4 him, NO u'll never do that, then why should we? Girls & Boys r supposed 2 be all equal arn't they?

Come to think of it, your avitar doesn't look very much like a 35 yr old man, or any man for that matter.

But I'd be pretty pissed, if she'd only been pregnant an hr, she couldn't even know for sure, she just got laid a few mins ago is what happened. what a b*tch

Ha ha, that's funny! At least you were kind enough to give up your seat, a lot of people don't nowadays when there are people standing who obviously need a seat more than they do.
