My Granddad says the Bill Haley and the Comets is the King of Rock 'n Roll and Elvis Presley was a Country and Western singer.who copied black blues singers. I don't like any of Granddad's records actually.

You're grandad is right. Elvis did use alot of old blues tunes and turn them into not country and western but more of a rockabilly sound. BIll haley and the comets were definitely rock and roll. Not saying Elvis wasnt one of the best He was!! just saying he didnt start off straight rock n roll.

Bill Haley and the comets were a one hit wonder the only thing that they ever did was rock around the clock and Elvis Presley was a country western artist when he started out but he fast became the true and only KING OF ROCK & ROLL and he is one of only two people who are in both the country and rock & roll hall of fame
the other being Johnny Cash
