It feels so close I can almost reach & touch it but yet it feels so far away?

it means that the object is really close physically/mentally but there is some kind of obstacle standing of the way of them getting to it.

Some things that are within our reach physically are still out of reach on another level. Whether it be your favorite kind of car in the lot that you can go and see and touch-but can't afford or a friend whom you would like to date-but they are in a relationship.

Sure sign of reluctance. They have difficulty with commitment and getting their selves to do things they would rather put off. It is the opposite of "Grabbing life by the horns." It could also be they are fickle. You know, when someone is all jazzed about going somewhere or doing something with you and then last minute, they cancel.

Maybe it's something that is physically close but there are mental or emotional reasons that keeps it at a distance.

kinda like when u have something to say and its on the tip of your tongue and its right there but u can't remember it to save your life.....or they could just be really confused...like schizophrenic or something...it could also mean that you can touch it, but u can't understand it, and the meaning is very distant

I take it to mean the person knows exactly what they want but can't seem to get it for one reason or another.
