There are a lot of medications that affect libido, including anything that is involved in birth control and many psychiatric medications like anti-depressants. Worse, it might not be an individual medication but the particular combination that you take.

If you take medications I would recommend that you talk to a pharmacist. Believe it or not, they are very well trained at picking out the side-affects of medications and drug interactions. Your physician might not be as knowledgeable as a good pharmacist.

If medications you take aren't the problem, make an appointment with your physician and discuss it with him or her. Don't just blindly accept medication as the solution, either; discuss things that may be involved, like any sluggishness you might be experiencing lately or changes in weight, things that might suggest other problems of which reduced libido is only a symptom. If necessary ask for a referral to a psychiatrist for further evaluation.

And you might want to take inventory of yourself while you're at it. Are there reasons for your loss of sex drive that you are not letting yourself pay attention to? Is there something about your husband that is troubling you? Have you been unusually stressed at work? Has your body self-image had reason to change recently? Are you concerned about getting pregnant? Can you pinpoint when the sex drive issues might first have surfaced? And, are you attracted to someone else?

Good luck...

Low libido (low sexual desire), is a very common problem for many women after childbirth or for those on birth control. It can also happen to young women or women of all ages. The cause is usually a hormonal imbalance.

There are many type of herbal supplements that can help you regain your libido. Horny Goat weed and Ginseng are good products, and there are also combination herbal supplments that work even better, I have heard that Boom is a real good one. The trick with kerbal supplements is finding the right one that works best for you because it all depends on how your body reacts to it. It may take some time and money to find the right one and once you do, I would recommend sticking with it. Here is a link to a web site that sells all kinds of herbal supplments for low libido and orgasm pleasure.

If you are on birth control, it could lower your sex drive. As with many things posted under health, talk to you doctor. They get these kinds of questions all the time. They are called "door knob" questions. They are the ones asked when the doctor's hand is on the door knob, just about to walk out of the room because the person is too embarassed to say something.

It could be a variety of things. Depression is one of them. It could be a chemical imbalance. Most likely it is temporary and you need not worry. Have there been any major changes in your life recently? That could be a reason. Don't worry though, You are probably just fine, and it will come back.
