I just started ortho tri-cyclen about a week and a half ago. Is ittoo early to be having side effects? My entire body is sore, I am spotting, and I am getting major mood swings. I am usually just about the happiest person out there, but the last few days I have been crying for no reason at all and I just want to lay around all day. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Do I need to just get used to it?

No, it's not too early for side effects. When I started TriCyclen Lo, my body started reacting within 3 or 4 days. Everything hurt, i had major headaches, and my moods would change on a dime. Don't worry too much, it won't last long. My doctor says it takes three months for your body to adjust to the new chemicals, but it could adjust within a month depending on your metabolism. Mine lasted a month and a half. After that, it's all good. Just try to keep the stress levels down. I found it helps to control the mood swings. Take long bubble bath, meditate, etc. Good luck!

I don't think it is to early for side effects. when I first started ortho lo I felt like my hair fell out more and got sick feelings and headaches it affects everyone different after a couple months the symptoms go away. I would call you dr. if it gets so bad you can't deal with it or just ask them for advice, but I think most side effects stop within at the most a few months!
