When a whole bunch of seemingly unrelated things happen at the same time, the first thing to think of is a bad electrical ground. In this case, you could also be losing power to your instrument pod. In a similar way, it could be a broken wire or circuit board trace in the instrument pod. The idea is to look for something that all these gauges have in common, and that is most likely a flaky power feed or a bad ground.

You probably have a bad power source. All your gauges are electcric, and they rely on a positive charge to run through them and out to sensors where they are grounded back into the car. If there is no power to them, they will go to their lowest setting, or to a neutral place. It sounds like you have a bad connection to the circuit board, and it could be tough to track down.

i have seen this problem before on gmc yukons--more often than not the problem can be traced to a malfunctioning battery positive source lead from the ignition switch.the ipc is directly powered from the ign switch. have your local shop check the power moding of the switch(the electrical portion of the switch-not the mechanical portion)generally with some manipulation of the wiring or a few taps on the switch body with the steering column covers removed the condition can be duplicated and verified. hope that helps out.................good luck!

I had a 2002 caravan that did that. eventually the air and windshield wipers and radio wouldn't always come on when you started the vehicle. Of course it was out of warranty and they said there was no recall. auto parts place said ignition switch was the problem - they've seen a million of the same problem.

we now have a 2006 freestar.

Sounds like you need to replace your speedometer test your sending unit. I would start with the speedometer though.

You probably had the news on the radio and it heard the gas prices were going up.
