My favourite song lyrics are probably the lyrics of Strangelove, written by Martin Gore for Depeche Mode- "There'll be times when my crimes will seem almost unforgivable. I give in to sin, because you have to make this life liveable" Martin Gore has an amost unique ability to take simple lyrics and give them a deep and powerful message, for example where he uses the theme of sex and bondage (in Master And Servant) to talk of the submission and powerlessness we all experience in life, in famiies, under governments and under the law. Great stuff....
