Try your local library, or even the school you are trying to get into. Are you going for your GED?

I can help you if you email me, but I can also give you an easy hint.
Assume your denominator- the bottom number- is 32 and your numerator- the number on top- is 17. Then think about if either of those two numbers are divisible by the same thing. 17 is a prime number- only divisible by 1 and itself- and 17 won't go into 32, so the fraction would be 17/32.

Now if the number was 16, it would go into 32. So 16 * 2 is 32. So divide the top and bottom both by 2. So like this
16 divided by 16 = 1
---- ----
32 divided by 16 = 2
So the answer is 16/32=1/2

And so on and so forth.
Are you dealing with mixed fractions?
if you have 1 and 3/4, change the 1 into 4/4. Add it to 3/4. So 1 and 3/4 = 7/4. With any other number, do the same. 2 and 5/8. 2= 1+1. 1= 8/8. So 8/8 + 8/8 + 5/8 = 21/8. If you need to do that in reverse: 21/8 how many times will 8 go into 21? 2. What's the remainder? 5, so put that over 8 and it is 2 and 5/8.

If you are adding mixed:
3/4 + 7/8 change them into the same denominator. 4 will go into 8 2 times. so
3 times 2 = 6
-- --
4 times 2 = 8
So 3/4 = 6/8. Then add 6/8 + 7/8 so 13/8 or 1 and 5/8.

If you need more, just contact me.

It'd be hard to tutor you online. Fractions are sort of hard to get, because some people have a hard time working with the concepts. For example, a girl who was the receptionist at the office where I used to work (and she was a H.S. grad), asked me which was larger, 1/2 or 1/3? And I explained to her that even though 3 is a larger nubmer than 2, 1/3 is smaller than 1/2. I then suggested that she think of a pie, and 1/2 of a pie is bigger than 1/3 of a pie. She sort of lit up and "got it." But I don't know if that would have been enough info for her to add two different fractions together or to multiply or divide with them.

You might need to, as the other person suggested, get yourself some private tutoring. Usually, you have to hire someone, but sometimes people can help you for free. For example, there are lots of volunteers who teach literacy, and their services are always free. It seems to me that someone, somewhere, must teach math-literacy, too, because that's just as important as being able to read and write.

(BTW, I applaud your command of the English language, which is way, WAY-better than most of what one typically sees here. But I need to tell you that "tooken" is an incorrect word--it should be "taken.")

But if you need help in person, try putting up posters at your local university/college.
