Actually, I believe they are outdated. There should be no organizations representing any specific races. Instead, we should have one organization that represents the rights of "ALL" races, men, women, sexual preference, etc. as a WHOLE!
An organization dedicated to the rights of one race often indirectly creates racism because of the jealousy of the races not included in the organization. For example: How often do you hear a racist white person complain about the United ***** College Fund?

How can one not make racial remarks when dealing with these organization.
The NAACP may have been a good organization years ago, but today, it run by black racists who see nothing good about whites.
The National Rainbow Coalition (Kenya) is a political party with some very shaky dealings.
Perhaps you meant "Rainbow/PUSH Coalition" run by Jesse "Hymie Town" Jackson. I wouldn't trust that man with a nickel.

It would be wonderful if they were outdated, but the fact remains that there is a need for organizations like these. There is still a lot of racism, and negativity about different lifestyles. Americans are separated because they choose to be not because of some group that is trying to promote unity.

Check out some of the answers given by possible teachers, cops, or even doctors. You asked a simple question and couldn't get an answer without a little hate in it. The hate is still out there so yes, the groups are still needed.

Yes, I believe there really is no need for a NAACP. There still may be a need for the rainbow coalition though.

Discrimination still exists; racism still exists; and black people have still not totally recovered from the effects of 250 years of slavery and 100 years of legalized discrimination. Slavery ended in 1865, but it was not until 1964 that black people obtained legal protection against discrimination in employment, or even the right to use the same washrooms as white people, and it was not until 1965 that black people fully gained the right to vote in many parts of this country. It takes more than one generation to recover from that legacy. So these organizations still have a useful role to play.
