Sometimes you don't... Did you love him? It is very hard to break that bond, especially if you were married to him too...

Time is the great healer for all wounds, so don't try to force yourself to "get over" him if you're not ready to move on yet.

Take care...

how long were you together. i have always wondered about this. i'm on the other end basically my husband has a daughter with another girl. thye got pregnant three months after they met and stayed together for a little over three years. do you ever get over the father of your kid? she is so mean to my husband and sometimes i feel its because she isn't over him. she has gotten remarried but it was for money not love and she trys to avoid talking to my husband all the time. she is even trying to take her daughter away from him. she never lets him see her even though the court says he gets her a few weeks a year. so i'm sorry i am answering you question with a question but it makes sense that you will never get over the father of your babies for the simple fact that you two got to expreience that wonderful moment together. so i am interested to see what others say.

you don't specify what happened here...if he died "in good standing with you" then that will take lots of time
however, if he is still alive and you don't have a 'friendly' relationship with him, just keep telling yourself the reason that you are not together...
you don't specify if he is a good father, if not...that should help you get over him...if he IS, then you will have to deal with it
I keep telling myself what a low life scum bag father, husband, lover, companion MY kids' father is...it didn't take long at all!

You don't you just move on. Be a lady and a good mother never disrespect him in front of them or after he is deceased. Improve yourself and make their lives better. Provide a stable and loving home. Do not let this scar you for life there are many good men out there and you will find him the one for you.

ah sounds like someone is still in love. Not sure what happened to cause the split but you need to move on in life. Everything happens for a reason. Must be someone better in the future for you.
