i had my fibroids removed, but i don't want to soley rely on doctors. they are comfortable with their practice... appointments and prescriptions. i ordered some books to read up on different experiences, remedies, outcomes, etc., but it'll take about a week before they come! i'm anxious to get some real life advice!

last edit: maybe the question should be... what's been your experience with fibroids/endometriosis? symptoms, treatment? post fibroids,etc.? sex post op?

Endometrial ablation and hysterectomy are not valid treatments for Endometriosis. Hysterectomy is not curative (remove disease, not organs), despite contrary myths, and an endometrial ablation is nowhere near the same thing as laser ablation of the implants.

I work in an OBGYN dept at a hospital- for fibroids/endometriosis you will definitely need to see a DR. depending on the size of the fibroids and the amount of endometriosis treatment ranges from something as simple as a hysteroscopy,d&c or endometrial ablation? to a hysterectomy for fibroid removal? it just all depends. go to a dr!

I was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 21, it was found while I was having my tubes tied. I tried birth control and pain pills to help it and they didnt work. I also tried a hormone pill to stop my period and that didnt help either. Mine was bad enough that my last resort was getting a d&c and a thermal ablation-neither of which are for someone that wants to remain fertile. I tried everything before I went that route, but mine was so bad I couldnt walk with the cramps. Try asking a doctor or someone what a good treatment option is, if you have endometriosis try the birth control pill to regulate your periods and lighten them and try a pain pill for cramping.

I don't know about frbroids, but I dealth with endometrosis for a long time. There are a lot of medications to help slow the progress of the disease, and along with laproscopic surgery, you can keep it at bay for a while. Go see a doctor who specializes in endometrosis and research your options carefully. Hope this helps!

I have suffered with both of those issues most of my life. I was put on the pill so that I couldn't have a period. They also went in a few times to remove the tumors and the endometrios from the outside of my uterus. Best bet is to seek a gynecologist. She/he can help you make an informed decision on what is best for you.

Have you spoken with your ob/gyn? Midwifes and alternative medical practitioners may offer good insight, as well. Soy, cammomile, and many other herbs are quite helpful, but it's very individual. I would urge you to speak witha health care professional. Be well.

Aside from a hysterectomy or the limited success of scraping it out, the pill helps a lot of woman. My girlfriend who is allergic to the pill was just prescribed a new pill that she isn't allergic to, which is helping a lot. Look for a Dr that specializes. If you have insurance, hound them for one.

i had to have surgery at 31 because the endometrios caused my ovaries to burst this stuff is very painful.
