that guy will get and assist. but when a person scores, everyone on the ice gets a +1. will the passer get a +1 or just a point for the assist. has that ever happend before?

I'm not sure if it's ever happened in the NHL, but my guess it that it must have at some point.

As for the rule, the player would get an assist, but not a plus. The plus/minus rules are very strict in that they're given only to the guys on the ice.

He will get the point for the assist but will not get credit for the plus/minus rating. I do not know of a specific instance with an assist but I am sure it has been done. There are a few instances where the player credited with the goal was on the bench when it was scored. Steve Smith with Edmonton vs Calgary for example.in 86 I believe.

yes this has happened before and no they do not get a plus 1 for it...they have to be on the ice.....it would normally happen when a defence-men does a long pass or dumps it into the corner to get off the ice and there own player beets out the icing...

the guy only gets an assist since he was't on the ice for the goal. i'm not sure if its happened before.

I dont really pay attention to that, i just pay attention to who is trying to score.
