Is The Western Society Racist To Muslims?

Question

Ever since 9/11, and the war in Iraq, and the conflicts with Hezbollah and Al Qaeda, people have really seemed to turn against the Muslim Society. Is this really as bad as it seems? I believe it has happened, but I want your all's opinions on how bad. If it is happening, then why?

Notice: I have my own opinions about this and I am not racist against Muslims in any way, I just want to know what people think about why its happened, and want to know how bad the situation is.

it is more non trust and misunderstanding. The musilms have not done a good job to help the situation, calling other religions names of disrespect.

Bla Bla Bla. I do not think that the Koran states about that to kill. I have studied Religions, Faiths and Supernatural all my life. I think most of what the media is portraiing ; is somewhat negative towards the Muslim faith. However, we must distinguish between Truth and un-truth. Not all Muslim's are violent. I happen to know quite a few as I went through the University. Most of them are just like you and me. Its those that are so franatic about it that oppose the new way's of Western thinking. Those franactics that want to control the old way's like they have been living in for centuries. Moreover the fact is that the Media portraits this subject more in black than in white! When you listen to the BBC oder any other International Media they do not report negativism about the Muslim society. They only report the fact about Hatred and Terrorism.I think, and that is my opinion only, that if we do not stop the intolerance towards the Muslim world and the values and morals the Muslim world has function under, we will never completly be at Peace! How can we enforce Democracy (and this is what Mr. President Bush ) is doing, upon an ancient old Relgion that will never accept the Western idealogy????? My philosophy of how to do politics, is that we must learn to understand the true excistance of the Muslim idealogy. We could live in harmony with them. Out of respect for other faith's we could direct the political agenda to our outcome which would be a positive solution for all of us. And end the negativism that the Muslim world is facing. I have worked for the German government and came to this conclusion a long time ago. I also live in the USA now, I am a citizen. I respect every faith. I do not believe in opposing our Democratic system up on those world s that are old an ancient like that of the Muslim society.

didn't the racism start generations and generations ago and manifest itself in many ways throughout the centuries? You can't just use 9/11 as a starting point, that would be no better than using the Iran hostage situation.
White people and Muslims have a bad record of getting along. And Americans had that fact shoved into their faces on 9/11, and the ignorant fell victim to the hate and distrust. Don't you think it's happened like that on the other side as well?

The Western Society is racist to Muslim when the immigrant Muslim refuse the integration with the inhabitants of the countries where they arrive. If they are offended by the way of living of the christian occidentals they can refrain from relocating in the christian countries or alternately pray Allah to save the soul of the christian sinners. In any case they must refrain from breaking the male attributes of the population.

God, you're getting some awful answers here. It is my first thought to react and get angry but then I think again and realize that these people are too ignorant and too insignificant for me to bother getting angry. They will be biased against Muslims because Bush created this war against terrorism for that purpose only...to make as many people as possible hate Muslims and be prejudiced against them. And so it worked.

But as an answer to your question, Muslims definitely are in a bad position after all these issues since 9/11. Just for being Muslim. It's depressing but we gotta deal with it.

Hum...lets see-there's 1) 9/11-the war in 2)Iraq-Al Qaeda, 3)Hezbollah-4)the recent failed attempt to recreate a 9/11-4)plus the bombings in England, 5)Spain, 6)the riots they threw because they don't know how to compromise,I'm sure there's more-I can definitely understand why a lot of us are being biased against them-one too many faults on their part-thanks to the extremists, and for our own security reasons we have to be/or feel the need to be.

I think Muslims are getting some heat.... It all depends on the community you live in.... Many westerners are educated and those who know and understand about Islam realizes this has nothing to do with Islam or muslims.... Some extremists are giving Islam a bad name and reputation....
