Oh let me count the ways...

Well, the Yankees have a reputation of buying/stealing (take your pick of words) the best free agents because their bankroll far exceeds anything any other team can boast. This means they never seem to have a "down" year.

Baseball goes in cycles, even the best teams have their slumps and even the best clubs have down years. But the Yankees seem to buy their way out of that and ALWAYS remain in contention.

I just get sick of them always being good. Call it envy if you want to, but it makes me wonder if the musical "Damn Yankees" didn't get it right and someone sold their soul to the devil to make them win.

Well for being America team is are good, but if you take away their money they use to buy the player what do you have.. a have way decent team. So to answer your question thats why folks hate them because their team may not be able to invest the money into a player as the Yankees do...

its a little thing called envy i hate the yankees because they win win win. my beloved cubs lose lose lose. if they could win maybe i would't hate the yankees so much another reason is because of the payroll they get any player they want players like a-rod, posada, randy johnson, plenty of other teams offered these players their money but the yankees always offer more i know many other teams could offer more becaue steinbrenner is not the richest owner in the league but he reaches in his own pocket to get them yeah thats great and all but let other teams have them so it all boils down to envy

Cause every time there's a player on the free agent market, they go out and spend 15 mil on them. It's so unfair to teams like Oakland or Minnesota. And they have 26 world championships. And Giambi and Sheffield are on steriods. I'm a Red Sox fan!
