Mrs. Lewis was crossing our road when the water main burst and shot up through the tarmac, leaving her floarting on a fifteen feet column of water. The Fire Brigade said phone the The Water Board. They say they can't attend for three days and the spray is giving our front gardens a lovely treat but she's got his dinner to cook. Any ideas how to get her down?

Tie a mattress to the roof of the old buick, and back it up over the column. Mrs. Lewis will come tumbling down with plenty of time to get the roast in the oven.

Tell her to jump; it would probably work better if you find something to cover the spray of water for just a few seconds so that she will fall then make sure you have a trampoline or mattress to catch her or she won't be cooking anything ever.

Or tell him to make his own dinner, can't he cook?
