Forget about when it's cheapest. Plan your trip time around your activities. Go during the winter to ski or the late summer to rock climb, kayaking, fishing, etc. Check out the concert schedule for Red Rocks and plan a trip around seeing a favorite band. Pack well, the weather changes frequently.

Really there's no bad time to travel to Denver so anytime is a good time. I think, however Denver is great in the winter time with the snow and the moutains.
