you're just lucky to be here that's all. The odd against you not being here are so stacked against you. So chill out and enjoy, you're not around for long

There is no reason. There simply isn't one.

We want there to be one, so we ask and ask and search to no end. Life is redundant. Take vast quantities of matter and energy. Add a few billion years, and sometimes you get life.

Existence does not denote meaning.

It's simply a drive that we have, which itself is by default. Imagine an intelligent species that didn't seek meaning. It wouldn't do as well. It's just a drive we have to help us stay motivated and make babies so that another generation can ask the same questions.

All the supposed reasons are circular logic based on nothing. A buddhist swordsman and poet said, "the meaning of life is to give life meaning". To me that says there is no inherent meaning, but here you are. You won't get another chance. So do what you want with it. You'll probably have more fun if you delude yourself into believing in something.

That's my two bits

P.S. I like that guys answer "We're here to ROCK." the best :D

Scientifically: I presume it's in order to carry on living and preserve the species. Why else do we have the ability to produce more life? However I once read that there is a view that we mere beings are only alive because we're teh host to a parasite called DNA taht needs live bodies in order to reproduce. So maybe that's our purpose in life, to make sure DNA lives on.

Soully: make up your own mind. We're all different, why should we all have the same purpose for being?

Religiously: I'm not sure if tehre is a religious reason for existing. There are people who don't have a religion, so why would they be allowed to exist?

If I knew the answer to that, I wouldn't be on here. But from my own limited perspective, humanity evolved with the Planet Earth. We are a biological product of our world, and intelligence and the development of a higher brain have given us evolutionary advantages.

If you are REALLY serious about this question, I suggest you read Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life". I think it will give you some answers as to why you are here. There is a reason.

Why are we here because - God put us on earth. Why do we do the things we do - because the universe unfolds before us and we have one life only so whether good or bad God put us here for the living - and to be the best we can be.

No reason whatsoever from scientific point of view.

Religious view point is based on lies. They use them to pacify the population.

In either case no purpose of life. every one is waiting to die the moment they born
