go shopping with her and if needed compromise by buying some of those dorky clothes but choose out some of your own too.

Let your mom know how much you appreciate her buying you clothes. Tell her that her little girl is growing up and you would like to take part in picking out the clothes. Ask her to take you along next time. Explain that your clothes reflect you and ask her how she would feel is someone (like her mom) started picking out her clothes.

Ask her to take you to a consignment store.
You can get name brand cloths - most almost new - for a fraction of the price, then she won't be dressing you like a geek buying you cheap - new cloths.
there are some great consignment shops that a lot of super rich people take cloths to - after only wearing them once or twice.
My daughters would rather shop there then the mall, bigger selection and they get triple the cloths that they could afford at the mall.

You need to speak up. You are your own best advocate. On the other hand, you need to compromise with your mother and not have a fit if you have picked out something she deems inappropriate. Just get some jeans and t-shirts. Can't go wrong with that.

I don't want to bust your bubble, but your mom is not spending all that money to send you to school so you can be (fine). She is sending you to school to get something you will need to make a decent life for your self when you get out on your on and have to make your on way. She is not worried about impressing people. One day when you get older you will understand.

don't let your mom buy clothes FOR you...instead go with her to buy your clothes....and tell her what types of clothes you wanna wear...or, ask if you could go shopping with your friends, and as a deal, you'll let her decide if they're appropriate or not....but definelty let your mom know that you don't like her clothes.

Try telling her how much you appreciate that she is providing you all your needs but tell her too that you would be happier if you could choose what to wear for school. Tell her though that you're willing to be guided by her. Moms tend to be protective with their kids!

Why not go shopping with her and come to an aggreement, like you buy stuff that is modest to her taste, but cool in your taste, or she buys you like 5 pairs of her taste, and 5 pairs of your taste
