Start with obtaining a copy of your son's credit report. This way you have proof in hand, not just accusations. Then, I would contact each person on that report so that they know that the utilities were obtain fraudulently. Also, I'd let the credit report agencies know that this is fraud. Contact your local police for further advisement because laws probably vary your area. Be sure to follow through with prosecution! This is a sad situation and I hope that it all works out for you.

Your best bet is to call the utilities company fraud line and tell them that your sons father is using your sons social security number for the use of utilies and you want a check done on it and they will help you to stop that from happening, because if your sons father falls behind in paying the bills or doesn't pay the bills and lets them become deliquent it could ruin your sons credit history before he has reached the age where he needs credit.
