I was on a trip to Italy about 6 years ago,when i was moving i discovered i had a suitcase full of french francs and lira is is there anyway i can exchange them or should i just throw them away i have about 80,000 francs and 200million lira

can you still exchange them since neither country uses them anymore since the euro

Go to the bank and exchange them.........

It depends upon where you live (big city versus small township), I'd imagine. If you have national or international banks in your town, I would take your francs and lira to a bank with a currency exchange desk. Even better would be a bank where you maintain accounts -- because they tend to waive exchange fees for customers. American Express has currency exchange counters in certain cities as well, but I believe that their fees are higher than banks.
