You should definitely check out his book http://www.informationsourcebook.com/pregfit

Everyone I know who got it loved it. I tells you how to avoid gaining unecessary weight and what exercises are safe during pregnancy. The exercises apparently also help you have an easier labor/delivery.

The book also helps you get back to your pre-preg wieght or better quickly after you have your kid.

Good luck!

"The Captain" knows not of which he speaks.

It is just as important to exercise and eat healthy when you are pregnant as when you are not.

Yes you will gain weight. You are growing a child within you. Along with the child, a lot of plumbing and contents is carried within your body. So, when you speak of losing weight, you cannot consider that part as what you have to lose. You will still need to eat more than someone who is not pregnant.

If you remain in good health, you can exercise right up to the day you give birth. You doctor monitors the health of you and your baby, so he/she can tell you what kind of exercise works best, and how much to do.

If you were overweight when you started your pregnancy, then the healthy diet and exercise your doctor gives you should result in a healthier you by the end of the pregnancy.

What you should NOT do is weigh yourself to see if the diet works. Every woman makes a baby in her own way. Some put on a lot of weight, some less. Some make bigger babies, some smaller.

Your breasts will get bigger as they begin to produce milk, so THAT too , adds weight. Your body will want to store extra fat, also. This is normal.

Don't expect all the pregnancy weight to disappear the moment the baby is delivered. You wil have to work some of that off, but follow your doctor's advice, again, about when you can start exercising, and what kind.

Stay healthy, and don't follow ANY of the advice on Yahoo Answers, (even mine) untill you verify everything you need with your doctor.

Congratulations!

its safe to exercise all through pregnancy, but what type of exercise you do will change. I was given the go ahead from my doctor to continue softball until my 20th week. (please keep in mind that I obviously wasn't going to be sliding into any bases, etc, of course I played with caution). Exercises that you can easily fall or get hit should be avoided, horseback riding, hockey, baseball, snowboarding, skiing, etc. Your balance will be shifting and you'll find it easier to get knocked off balance.

I bought a fitness pregnancy book that I really like, it's incorporates pilates, yoga and light weights. You can do some types of crunches on a ball, but never flat on the ground. Walking and swimming are GREAT (wish I had access to a pool or had prenatal fitness classes nearby).

Also, everyone keeps saying "You need to eat a lot" which I think can be a huge misconception. The baby only requires an additional 300 calories a day! that really isn't very much at all.

Personally, I wasn't the thinnest to begin with, so the doctor is fine with me only gaining 15 -20 lbs. If you are underweight, doc will want you to gain 25- 35 probably, over weight, shouldn't be more than 15 or so.

it all depends on what your doc advises though, every woman is different and only your doc knows your medical history and what is safe for you and the baby.

Check with your OB/GYN first before you do any exercises. If you worked out before pregnancy, you should be able to continue most exercises except crunches/abs. It can cut off the blood supply to the baby and cord. I worked out until the day I delivered. I walked a few miles a day and lifted light weights. It didn't help me loose weight while I was pregnant but it really helped me get my figure back quickly after I had the baby. Plus, I was in great shape to actually deliver the baby. Good luck to you!

My Dr. told me he wants me to exercises. I just had a baby in Jan. and I am 4 1/2 months pregnant. I haven't had a chance to lose baby weight from my last pregnancy. My Dr. said they do not want me gaining any weight. I have to walk at least 30 minutes 4 times a week. SOOO unlike the other answers...I have to lose weight, so the baby can gain weight. Like I have gained 1lb. when its normal to gain like 4-7 by now. Anyways yes it is safe to lose weight unless you are under weight already. Just talk to your Dr. they probably wont have a problem as long as the baby is growing. Good Luck

The best exercise for pregnancy is swimming, and it's the safest. I bought a book when I found out I'm pregnant it's called
What To Expect When Your Expecting, and it will show you how to exercise safely, how long what to do or not to do, I'm still reading it and I suggest mabe you buy that, it's very informative.

To be healthy, you shouldn't be losing weight. You can definately do prenatal exercises, but not regular exercises, which may result to miscarriage. You should also walk more. After 34 weeks, you shouldn't be exercising at all.

Exercising while your pregnant (in moderation) is great. Trying to lose weight while pregnant is not. You need to focus on your unborn child and it's needs, not your selfish desire to be thin. The only way to lose weight is to exercise and cut calories, doing this will harm your baby greatly.

Exercise and a good diet are great durring pregnancy. it just depends on what kind of exercise you're doing...obviously pushups and things like squat thrusts with a barbell on your shoulders arn't good for a prengnat mother to do. but something as simple as taking a walk for a mile or two is a great way to cut unnecessary weight gain. walking is low impact, it's good cardio and it's something you can do up until your water breaks.

in case you're pregnant you may no longer nutrition recurring. you will decide on approximately 3 hundred greater advantageous energy on marvelous of a typical nutrition recurring for a healthful toddler. you're ingesting superb healthful nutrition, nevertheless. i will provide you that! you're able to exercising once you're pregnant yet will in all probability ought to circulate to a low impact sort exercising (walking, swimming, motorbike gadget) and that i could say weight lifting is out because you do no longer decide directly to rigidity your abdomen muscle tissues. dropping weight isn't healthful for the time of being pregnant.
