No comparison. The first Dream Team was the best team of players ever assembled on one team, no question. It was THE best 12 players in the league at that time, plus I think Christian Laettner out of Duke. The team put together now is very good, however I dont think anyone would argue it's the best 12 players in the league right now. I know that international basketball has improved over the last decade, but no one even came close to making a game with the original Dream Team competitive.

The 92' group without a doubt simply because they absolutely ishtted on the competition. They won every game by like 50-60 points. They played well together and got it done. These last few "Dream Teams" have been nightmare. This current team is very good, do not get me wrong. But they only beat Brazil by 4 points. I mean I am sure some of those players could match up with the 92' squad. Well everyone except Jordan. I just read an article that he is 43 and still winning every one-on-one game he plays and making all those shots he used to make on people half his age still.

There will never be a Dream Team like the one Jordan was on. The roster was full of all time greats of the game. Many of the players on that team could be considered the best at their position ever. Looking back on it now it's actually sort of amazing. Every player was and is a NBA legend. Not only was there Jordan, they had Magic, Bird, Barkley, Ewing, David Robinson, Drexler, Karl Malone, John Stockton, and Scottie Pippen. This new team we have is good, but nothing compared to the old one.

The first and true Dream Team with Jordan and Co. Its hard to compare as Lebron, D Wade, Melo, Bosh, Chris Paul and the rest will only get better but I can't go against a team that has Jordan, Bird, and Magic. That will be the best team ever assembled in my opinion. That team had all the combinations you needed, pure point guards, slashers, shooters, low post threats, rebounders, etc. They blew everyone away.

Certainly the '92 dream team was the best, and no one should really try to argue otherwise. I, however, will argue that Lebron and his buddies have a team with a remarkably similar make up to the 92 team and someday may just rival them. The initial comparisons are obvious Magic - Lebron, Jordan - Wade, Anthony - Barkley (rememeber that Barkley was the leading scorer on that team just like Anthony). Now look at the rest of the team and see the roles they are now playing:
Ewing - Howard (warrior inside)
Stockton - Paul (true PG)
Drexler - Johnson (all around wing player)
Olajuwan - Bosh (Bosh isn't as good defensively but he's a crafty and smooth offensive player)
Malone - Brand (low post muscle with good shooting touch)
of course there are still key pieces missing, such as bird and pippen, two of the all time greats. But the current team is missing Kobe and Amare, who both have the look of future hall of famers. Is the current team better? no. at least not yet.

No comparison. Jordan's Dream Team would beat LeBron and co. by at least 35 points. It would be a laugher.
There was more talent on the 92 team, they played as a team, checked their egos at the door, and got it done.

It doesn't. Those were the best players in the league at a time when international ball was a bit of a joke. These are the second tier at a time when internationals can play pretty good. If This team contained Kobe, Tim Duncan, Shaq, Garnett, Etc, then we could talk.
