Is an album considered a hit after it has sold more than 1 million copies or does it depend on air play from disc jockeys?

500,000 sold. Isn't that a gold record. One million is platinum. I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure thats it.

Many albums sold more than a million copies and suck! i thinl you should decide what is a hit or what isn't!

after an album is released the record companys advertise it to atempt for people to puy more copies once it hits 1,000,000 copies sold it is a hit

I think a album is a hit when you hear the music from it EVERYWHERE !!!! Sales are great but when the people talk about it, and a hot video follows, its a hit.

These days...it seems to become a hit when yo uget sick of hearing it on the radio.
