You can't really make lipgloss from ingredients from the kitchen. But this website sells all the ingredients u need. It even has pre-made lipgloss base. Here is some recipes

1. Grate the cocoa butter up with any standard grater. This speeds up the melting process.

2. Add the roughly chopped Shea Butter

3. Add the beeswax pellets to the cocoa butter and shea butter.

4. Measure the liquid oils and add to the butters and beeswax.

5. Place into a microwave and heat in short bursts until fully melted. Mix well and add any flavour oil or other items such as honey or chocolate at this point.

6. Place the jars on a tray and spoon the lip balm into small jars. Place in a fridge to set for approx 1 hour. Place caps on the jars and label accordingly.

Placing the lip balm into the fridge to set reduces the amount of dipping in the centre of the jars. If this is a worry or affects the look of your lip balms or butters simply keep a little of the mixture back, allow them to partly set then remelt the remainder and top up the jars to cover any slight dip that may have formed. This is totally usual and is caused by the natural shrinkage of the beeswax.

The Basic Lip Balm Recipe

1 tablespoon beeswax pellets

1 tablespoon roughly chopped shea butter
1 tablespoon grated cocoa butter
1 tablespoon sweet almond oil

1 tablespoon castor oil
Optional items:

Cosmetic grade Flavour oil

Chocolate

Honey

Tip: Place the pots onto a tray and place in the fridge to set.

This will prevent any dip in the surface of the jar.

Why not add a little honey or liquid glucose to sweeten the lip balm.
For sheer indulgence add a little melted chocolate – yumm!!
You can even add a couple of drops of peppermint oil for a cooling touch.
If your balm is too hard, simply remelt it and add additional liquid oils.
If too soft, simply re-melt and add a little more cocoa butter or beeswax – but just a little :-)

Go to Micheals or JoAnns fabrics - they have homemade lipgloss kits, soap kits, etc there. I've played around with making soap at home and it's a blast! Besides, getting all the ingredients to make your own lipgloss might be a bit hard, try the kit for the first time to see if you like it!

You can use Vaseline for lipgloss if you flavour it with cooking essences, like vanilla or mint. You can use it without the flavouring, but the smell is a little off-putting, though it works wonders for your lips!
