I'd probably Dry Clean. What does the label say? There should be directions for cleaning, and unfortuneately normally when they say Dry Clean Only they are right lol I've hand or machine washed some things that were DC only but on hand washable cycle with woolite. The linen is what I'd be afriad of....Of course cotton shrinks too unless it's prewashed then it can still shrink (Like two year old jeans can :) lol
If you do wash it, hand wash for sure use woolite & I usually toss anything I hand wash in the dryer on low temp for about a minute or two then hang dry. The quick minute in the dryer makes things not so stiff :)
Good Luck!

What is the other 20% of fabric content? (45% + 35% = 80%)

As long as the other 20% is not rayon or wool, you can wash it using Woolite in your washing machine's cool cycle. If you're not concerned about shrinkage, you can dry it in your dryer, too. Otherwise hang it up to dry.

As it is mostly cotton and linen, it is going to need some serious ironing when it's dry. Use a spray sizing as you iron and it will look crisper and newer.

You dont say what colour it is, you may have more of a problem with colour run than shrinkage. Whats the care label say? If no label wash as wool at 25/30 . probably best to drip dry on a strong plastic hanger to avoid creasing. Iron lightly whilst still damp.

Dip it in sugar water, and leave it out for the ants. My grandmother swears by it. That's how she washes all her clothes.
