Some people can sit and watch an operation on TV with no problem. Another person, if you say you got a paper cut, they run to the bathroom to throw up. What causes such weakness?

Part of it's socialization--I wasn't allowed to be very squeamish, so I worked hard to overcome any girly-girl inclination to freak out over bugs and spiders. So I can handle them with no freakouts and I often pick up spiders to move them to more favorable locations (like, somewhere other than my bedroom.) If you approach "gross" stuff with fascination rather than revulsion, you won't get as sick or get sick as often.

But some people are just super-sensitive and can't overcome their reactions. It makes sense, in a way--if you saw somebody being carved up, you might be next, so you might want to run away. If you were bleeding and it made you faint, you might lose a little less blood than if you were up flailing around (though it would make it easier for the saber-tooth tiger to eat you if you fainted after it scratched you. But if it were close enough to scratch, you'd probably be a goner, anway and at least you wouldn't be conscious while you got eaten.) If you smell something gross, it could be bad food or poison and if you ate something bad, you should throw it up to get it out of your body. It makes sense in a way, but I think people should learn to control their natural impulses when there's no real danger from things that make them squeamish.

Some people are just "more fortunate" than others. I'm a 43 year old male who cannot watch zombie movies (EVER). Just the thought turns my stomach. Any movie with senseless violence is out. However a movie where "violence" is an "important" part of the plot, I can tolerate, such as a war movie. Then it is a FACT that can't be denied, however, senseless violence that comes randomly just "does" something to me. ::bleh::

My nieces and nephews sit right through them without a problem.

It's not just coz of genetics but the liver problem. Some people have healthy liver but some has weak liver. The people who've digestion problem usually have these tendencies that's what make them feel nausea the moment they see something gross. These people should eat some bitter and sour vegetables and fruits as part of their diet all the time.Juice of some citric acid fruits like orange, craneberries and grapes helps a lot in such case.

Some people were born with a abnormal stomach. This abnormal stomach is backwards. Allthough no harm or defect can come of this, the stomach is more pron to "turn"

It all comes down to a matter of psychology. It's the same reason some peopel are afraid of spiders or water. It's something learned (very early on) in life. It's called ?schematic impressions" or learned behavior. Put simply- it's all in your head. lol.

Take Biology 30. I remember learning something about that.. lol, I think it had something to do with a persons secretion of adrenaline or whatnot. I don't exaclty remember. I only barely remember 'cos I get nervous very easy (stupid rollercoasters) and it piqued my interest.
