I have never owned a alfa but I've driven a boat load of them. The most common alfa I've driven is a spider, the veloce and quadifolio?? models a lot, the stick shift is almost on the bottom of dash. The spiders are very fun to drive because they are quick and handle turns. I've also driven the Milano's, a boxy sedan which is cool, but the 3.0 milano is way fast and wanted by collectors. I've also driven the GT-V6's from the 80's. There are my favorite alfa and are a very fast hatch back. Other than that, I've driven a couple 164's and 164S's but those were more of a luxury sedan, but the 164S was one of the fastest alfas I've ever been in. There are a couple of older alfas I've driven, like an alfetta??, and the styling of the old alfas is very taste full. Anyway, would love to find an '86 GT-V6 restored, I'd sell my soul for it!!!!

Two -- 1974 Spider Veloce in great condition, and a 1973 Berlina that is cosmetically rough but a sheer delight to drive.

If you're looking for other Alfa owners, see if there's a club near you. It's great to network with other owners for technical reasons, but the social benefits can be great as well. Also, my local Alfa club regularly hosts track days at Portland International Raceway (Portland, Oregon USA), and for a little over a hundred dollars you can drive your car around the track. (My avatar is a photo of me in turn 12 at PIR at an Alfa club track day, though not in one of the Alfas...) But clubs also host tours, road rallies, and other events depending on where you live. It's a great way to meet like-minded enthusiasts and start having some fun with your cars.

I've included the "Links" page from my local club in the Sources field; it includes the URLs for a slew of other Alfa-related Web sites, including half a dozen Alfa clubs around the world (Sweden, the Netherlands, Australia, and more).

Enjoy!

I own one, however, I don't live in the US. It's an Alfa Romeo 145 95' and it runs great. 11 years old and it's still as beautiful as any other 06' car. It's small 1300 ccm engine packs a great 90 HP. Big amount for a stock car.

Can't wait to buy an Alfa. Presently, they're not sold in the States. However, they are supposed to arrive early 2007. I almost bought an Alfa GTV-6.

I have (2), a1966 1900 SS coupe and a 1960 Giulia spider with a later model 2L engine and 5 spd. Love them both. Stunning to look at. However they are both persnickety automobiles which rarely make it home with everything working as it was when I left. Mechanically they are durable. Both are a load of fun to drive, though neither compares to sports cars of today for handling or sheer acceleration. Stunning to look at. I had to repeat that to remind myself of why I still own them given their persnickety nature.

Great car if you love mechanics, a friend of mine collect them and spends more time UNDER them than IN them. Lot of people lwanted one in the eighties in Europe when become popular and they become disapointed by lack of quality and lot of breakdowns.
