I am going to eat with my husband for our anniversary and we just moved to Tallahassee and we are looking for a nice place to eat. Ive been to places like Red Lobster, AppleBees, Cheddars, Ruby Tuesday, Is there anything anyone could suggest because those are our last resorts. If so, what do you like there? Thanks

There are a variety of options, depending on what you're looking for. There are two very good, but very different, French restaurants in town, Chez Pierre and Alberts. Chez Pierre is the less expensive of the two and my personal favorite- because of the great atmosphere (it's an old historic home in the midtown area, so nice). Alberts' is delicious, but doesn't have the atmosphere to me. Bonefish is always good, but it's a chain, so you may have been there before. If you prefer a good steak, Marie Livingston's out near I-10 and Hwy 27N is IMO the best steak in town, and it's pretty if you sit in the area with the vaulted ceilings. We really like Harry's downtown in Kleman Plaza as well. Good seafood, but lots of other choices- it has a New Orleans flair and is super fun! Good Luck!

Kool Beanz Cafe on Thomasville Rd (850-224-2466) Small, brightly painted eclectic place that encourages you to Eat, Drink, and Talk Loud...Entrees $12-18.00 with an open kitchen and food bar. Come for the food, watch the show.
They write a new dinner menu every day at 2:00 - consider it a menu of all daily specials based on the freshest ingredients they have in house. Opens for dinner at 5:30 - No reservations accepted.
It is loud, so it may not be the most accomodating to an anniversary dinner, but it's some of the best food I've eaten in Tallahassee...
