The marriage is over when either of you are no longer willing to make it work. Many people do not realize that getting married is the easy part but staying married is hard work. Being from different backgrounds does not have to be a hardship. You both just have to learn to be open about it and embrace it without losing your own values and ethics. Communication is key. Don't make assumptions. Make sure you know the complete history or story of something before you dismiss it as something you won't do or be apart of. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Officially, The marriage is over 30 days from the time that the Judge signs the divorce decree. The fact that you tried therapy speaks volumes. If you still can't work it out and are ready to split amlicably, both of you should talk to the same Lawyer and discuss how to bring it to an end agreeably

Hi,
The point I knew my marriage was over was when we both stopped caring for each other's needs and wants. I was married for 13 years and finally gave up. I am now working in Iraq and madly in love with a girl that is 1000% Muslim. This presents a complete new set of problems. Does love conquer all? Maybe you can tell me. All I know is that don't give up easily. Remember the vows you took when you got married. Also remember the feelings you had the day you got married. It would be great to feel that everyday.

Well Laura, I can't really speak for another culture. From my own experience though, the marriage was over the day he told me he doesn't love me anymore.

Your marriage is over when one of you is tired of trying. I say one of you b/c if one of you is just like fudge it weve done all we can & doesnt seem positive to try other thigns, its time to start letting it go. cant make someone want to try & work on things with you. they either do or dont ...u both have to be willing to go thru whatever it takes to work thru the issues at hand. if you find yourselves living like roomies-just coexisiting, then yea its over...its just matter of who's going to admit it

just because you are different doesnt mean that your marrage is over, it just means you need more time together doing things you both like. if you are still in love and trust one another it is a good marrage.
