I had it done 10 years ago and was in and out of the doctors office in less then a 1/2 hour. The sex afterwards is better then before as you are more relaxed knowing not more pregnancies.

Well, let him be a man. Tell him you are scared of what could happen. It is alot more dangerous a procedure for women than men. And alot more extensive.

I am sure you have gone through all the other stuff and now it is a matter of who gets it done. If he is a man he will protect you and get it done.

I am sort of in the same predicament. We have two kids who are delightful but both unplanned. We CANNOT afford to have another. I am told that the vasectomy is the most effective of all of the options. I am also told that the procedure is not pleasant but ask him to imagine the pleasure he will have being able to free-ball it any time he likes!

If you pressure him to get it done, he will resent it. Just give him all the information, say you think it's the best way, and then back off! You really can't push somebody into such a personal decision. If he says no, then get yourself a tubal ligation. Many men have serious issues about being cut "down there," and there's not much you can do about that.

You know what worked for my husband........ I sat down with him, with parer work in hand showing him that getting my tubes tied was 250.00 with our insurance and a two day hospital stay on top of that, and then showed him that it was a 10.00 dollar office co-pay for the out patient procedure to get snipped and a three day rest time at home for him.... The money and the fact that he wouldn't have to take care of our four kids by himself for a few days did it for us! Good Luck!!!!

Maybe both of you should do it. I have heard that it's easier on the man, too, but you should get it done anyways. It seems like you both are pretty fertile, so just to make sure, you should do it together.
