I would like to go back and see the Sarsen trilithons being erected at Stonehenge. It would be so eye opening to see these people working, communicating their obviously sophisticated knowledge. To hear them laugh or play with their children - things that are human constants - whilst at the same time sensing their otherness.

Just how alien would their presence, their culture feel? Would it be something I could relate to quite easily or something eerie and foriegn? Where would the surprises lie - the things I'd never have imagined or thought of?

I feel really frustrated now because I can't go back. So many questions could be cleared up about the past and the present. So many more might be asked. I don't suppose you actually know anyone with a time machine do you?

If the time machine granted me the ability to watch but not interact or be harmed, I believe that I would like to have been present at the destruction of "Atlantis" to see if things really played out the way that the legends say.
If this was not possible or I was allowed to visit somewhere else remaining unscathed, I think that I would like to go back into history and find out whether or not I could Identify the creators of Stone Henge in Europe.

I think that mystery surrounding both of these would help to quell many rumors and myths which abound around the world.

I would go back to the time the largest and thought to be invincible german vessel was sunk into its 2000 strong base surounded by a bay with metalic links by 2 or 3 britsh midget submarines carrying only 12 men. And find out if the third one was successful in its mission. what an amazing day that must of been

If I had a time machine, I would travel back to 31 July 1790, the date that the first patent was made in the United States, and get U.S. Patent #1, so that if anyone comes up with a time machine, I would be owed royalties. :-)
