I recently bought a ring that was advertised as saphire, and when it was delivered the receipt said that it was a 'cr' stone. Was I riped off ?

CR- Created Stone. I prefer CRs, the color and clarity is much better than naturals...but they are consquently less valuable...and technically it IS a sapphire...same chemical compound...just not a natural sapphire.

CR could mean created- lab-created, synthetic. A lab created stone is still a sapphire, it just wasn't dug out of the ground.

it means created- which means it was made in a lab and is NOT A real sapphire. Yes, if you thought is was real then you were ripped off.

Maybe it means lab created....if do then it is not a real sapphire. I wouldn't say you got ripped off, but it may not be genuine.
