I'm 5'10, and I've dated guys who were shorter... much shorter even! It did make me self-conscious though. I think it had more to do with my own insecurity than with them. It's hard to feel feminine, dainty, etc. when you tower over your boyfriend! It's odd because tall women in general are considered sexy, but many men are intimidated. Plus, there are always a handful of morons who just like to be unkind.

No way! Most of the guys I have dated have been shorter than me...the average American male height is 5'9, I think. A guy that is shorter than you has to have a lot of confidence to date a woman taller than him! That says a lot. My current boyfriend is only one inch taller than me (shorter than me when I wear heels) but that's okay! You might miss out on a really terrific relationship if you judge guys by their height.

Well, I don't make my dating decision based on age or height. But assuming we had some things in common and enjoyed each others company, yes I would date him. And no, of course I wouldn't tease him for being shorter -- that's juvenile.

I'm 5'9 and am dating a dude thats 24 and 5'8" i call him 'shorty' sometimes but then he teases me for being tall lol so it balances out

I would date him, he's only a inch shorter unless you wear heels but i guess it depends on if you like the guy shorter or taller then you

I am 5'4" & always get the SHORT guys who smoke!! 5'9" is TALL to me!!
