I live in a student house. There are five laptops connected to a BT router. Can someone on another computer view what I am looking at on my computer, at the same time I am looking at it? We have no locks on the doors so anyone can have access to my computer. Have password protected my computer, but only recently. Is there a way I can check on my computer if someone has set it for this? It's called remote viewing I think. Thanks.

i share a router modem with my wifes p.c and she cannot veiw anything i do on my p.c and the same goes for her
routers are basically a adsl splitter,so a single broadband line can be sent to up to 10 computers depending on your router model, but unless you give out your password you are perfectlly safe
you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned"password protected"this stops anyone except yourself accessing your p.c
with regards to remote veiwing, windows calls it remote access, and a quick way to see if you have enabled anyone to remotely access your computer is to look in your firewall exceptions tab,as a user would have to be a exception as to gain access through the firewall.
once you have checked that its a good idea to change your windows password at lest once a week, and this should make any attempt to gain access a lot harder
good luck

Its called a network sniffer. If you're on a broadcast network, they can see your stuff. But unless you have a CS or CpE student on the network with you, I doubt you'll have anything to worry about.

No unless you turn on file sharing on your computer.

only if you have set up a home network within your network. Otherwise all computers run autonomously

no, you can only see what other people are doing if all your computers are connected to a network.
