Gas is not high . Norway $7.00 / canada$4.50/ germany $5,25/ UK $6.00 and so on . Gas has been cheap here forever and it will only get more expensive so you need to quit complaining and work harder to pay for it . Wait till the Chinese with 1.7 billion people find about cars and trucks and India with 1.3 billion people do too . That is 3 billiuon potential customers versus the USA 300 million people. Where do you want to own a gas station in reality ? Their economies are growing at an annualized 12% a year against the USA @ 3.9 % . Takes alot of energy to run those economic juggernauts and they will gladly pay for the oil to keep going . They need greases , lubricants , gas , diesel, and etc in huge quantities . Where will gas prices be in 3-5 years ? A guess is around $4-6 a gallon . Sure is not going down that is for sure . You might see dips to $2,50 and then everybody will be saying how cheap gas is and 2 years ago the national price was $1.50 . Utilities that are oil fired will also go up substantially and natural gas will go up meteorically also during the winters .

Actually no,
Since 1980 it until recently it was 1 to 2 dollars.
Now combining what has gone on in the world and poor management of resources the price is actaully cheaper than what it should be considering prices usually double in 20 years.
Now having said that Indian and China are industrializing demand guess what oil. There are about 2.4 billion people in these countries and they using and demanding fuel.
Combining that with the long standing DNC policy of no drilling, no new refineries and plant causes us to have a supply side problem especially in the face of natural disasters. So even if we had large amounts of resourses we could make energy fast enough, failure to plan in essence.
Finally with simple economics supply is constant and demand is rise I.E. increased cost, you think the liberals would have learned by the CA experience when they tried to put a ceiling on prices.

No, even though it really hurts the pocket book. I feel a higher price will definitely end up helping our environment. I just stopped working at a place 30 miles away and man have I saved some good money on gas. The U.S. needs to adjust their usage to their production, currently we use 200% of the fuel the U.S. collects. So we pay other countries that only use 35-60% of what they collect. Even though we collect more fuel than them.

Way too hight. I think those gas companies and gas stations are having a party of life time at the consumers' expenses. They say their margin is just a 1 cent per gallon. I do not believe it and they realize this is the window of opportunity, so they need to rake.

I don't know where you live but it hasn't anywhere near doubled where I live. It was about 1.90 a gallon two years ago and now its 2.90 here.....
But, I agree that the price is too high anyways. But in my case, that just means extra spending of about $25 a month so no big deal!

Try around $8.50 per gallon in Celle, Germany, and around $8.70 per gallon in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Just to give you an idea of how good we have it in the USA...!
