I was on Yasmin and I loved it. I have heard some scary side effects, but the more you research into any form of birth conrol you will hear more of the bad than the good. I was on Yasmin for 8 months before I decided to get pregnant again (17 weeks and counting). I have a friend that was on Depo and is now on the pills, and she is having a hard time adjusting to it. Do what is best for you...and if you're concerned about pregnancy between birth control switches, make sure you use alternate forms (condoms, foam) or abstain from sex until you've completed the first three months of the pill (which is generally how long it takes for the full effect of the pill). Good luck to you.

Well in order to switch birth control, you must go to the doctor, and the doctor must give a prescription for it. And yes, when you start a new birth control you should always use extra protection, such as condoms, at first. The doctor and instructions with the birth control will also tell you that.
Here is the website for Yasmin, in case you would like to read up on it (just in case you haven't) http://www.yasmin-us.com/
With any birth control, or any type of pill or w/e that you take, there is ALWAYS a chance of side effects.....that doesn't mean you will have any of them. Everyone's body reacts differently. And NO they are NOT taking it off the shelf (where do you people come up with this make-believe stuff)......
Just go see your doctor and see if it's right for you. Good Luck.
This is just some added FYI about the Depo Provera shot. This shot, when used for a long period of time, can decrease your bone density. After a certain amount of years of being on the shot, your doctor will likely make you get off of it. This also happened to my best friend, now she is on the pill. I was on Depo for 9 months, and sure it was great. Only get it once every 3 months and no period......but in he long run, it's not the best choice for your body. I think switching to the pill is a great idea. I'm on Estrostep right now, and am considering switching to Seasonale. With seasonale you only have 4 periods in a year.

i grow to be on depo for 3 years. I actually were off when you consider that July. I had no unintended outcomes even as on depo. It does take a lengthy time period on your body to come back to standard. i did not have a era for 3 years. I nevertheless don't have one. actually i'd be at liberty if I by no skill had one back. it would want to take some months to come back to formerly the dep.. It gained't magically disappear once you provide up taking it.

I loved yasmine. Every woman is different but it worked wonderfully for me. If you are going to switch always talk to your doctor and yes use extra protection for the next month just in case.
