My husband recently began thinking about getting circumcised. Oddly enough i've never been with a circumcised man and didn't really know how to respond when he told me he was thinking about having it done? Is it really any different at all? How does it feel different? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Well any answers/advice would help really.

If he doesn't have horrible recurrent problems I recommend against it. I've not only been around the block a few times but I'm a nurse and have many penises, both circumcised and not, on a personal level and on a clinical level. My husband, his family and my son and stepson aren't circumcised and they are just fine.

I prefer uncircumcised if I had a choice, although circumcised of course is nice too. It is NOT dirty any more than your labia is dirty. Do you feel the need to "pull back the skin" or your labia and scrub it with soap? Of course not. You basically just shower and that's it, right (at least I hope). That's all an uncircumcised man need is a shower like everyone else. The only difference is they need to pull back the skin to put a condom on and to urinate (otherwise urine gets all over).

I have found with circumcised men I am more likely to get dry and sore and/or need to add a little saliva to get things going. No so with uncircumcised, things are always nice, soft and lubricated, the skin has a nice gliding action and I have never, ever needed lubrication, not even saliva - and it's been 10 years with my husband!

If he does decide to get it done, he may like it at first because the exposed glans will be very sensitive but after a few years will toughen up and he won't have the same degree of sensation he had before. Men circumcised from birth are less sensitive but of course they don't know what they are missing as they never had a foreskin.

However, if he has problems with his foreskin, he may like being circumcised better. Either way, make sure he has good anesthetic and a good urologist who does a good job. Tell them to leave a little skin for movement on the shaft. Nothing worse than a too-tight circumcision with a prominent purple scar high on the shaft, tight shiny bumpy skin and when erect, and skin tags from a poorly done circumcision.

If you decide you'd prefer him to remain uncircumcised and want to convince him, you can show him photos of botched circumcisions. I've sent several of similar ones in real life so they are not rare. But of course men don't know these are problems from their infant circumcisions so they don't care.

I am all the oposite, I have not been with an uncircumcised man. I think that you should not fear it, my husband is circumcised and he is perfectly fine, sex is great! and not to mention how much better it is for a man to be circumcised, health wise anyway.

If he gets the surgery done, he will be in bed for a WHILE and he will be in pain too, but it will go away, so I would definitely support him on this decision. Good luck!!

WOW!!! I can't believe he's will to go through the pain. Why would he want to do that now, as an adult? I personally don't see anything wrong with a circumcised penis. It's actually better because it's easier to maintain clean. Good luck

These links have reactions of men circumcised as adults, a result of a survey and the actual surgical procedure which will be followed both you and your husband should browse through them.(the last site has pictures of actual procedures being carried out, so you may want to view it in private)

This is very painful for an adult male, and he may have psychological problems with it as well. Leave it as nature intended - you can't put it back if he is dissatisfied! Uncircumcised men can be just as clean and just as sexy - I wouldn't mutilate my man's equipment for anything! (And yes, I have been with a circumcised man, and it was no better!)

It is somuch cleaner and healthier! Let him get it.....sucking it is WAY better that way and when he puts it in for the first time, you are going to die....it feels so much better cause it's really hard and there's not extra "skin" rubbing around.....I prefer circumcisizion to be the best and it is!
