4 years ago now since the big blackout for most of the north eastern US and Ontario and Quebec.
What were you doing during that time?

Duh, standing in line at the only beer store open in the district.....while the rest of the neighbors bbq'd up all our soon to rot frozen goods. What a party!

First seeing a new consult patient in a hospital corridor near the glass doors where there was some light. Later getting dinner with my kids at the outdoor farmers market, then looking at stars through a telescope in the front yard. I had an 80 year-old patient tell me the next day that it was the first time she had ever seen the stars... lights were out and she had lived her whole life in the city.

Watching New York powerless on TV. I was a couple of towns away from being a part of the blackout.

I was driving when I realised the traffic lights were out... played hooky from work that day, which was a good thing as my roommate got stuck on the subway heading home. I used to travel with her all the time!

Spaghetti dinner, all the fixings, by candle light. Then out to the porch to watch the bond fire they built in the road down the road aways. Kinda nice reminded of younger days.

At a family restaurant with my kids...the were playing in the tubes when it went dark.....scarry for them!...then back home and our neighbour invited us to the pool later that day to keep cool...with some frozen marguerita's!

I think it was 3 years ago, because I was breaking up with my boyfriend at the time. But I have a new one, so I am happy.

laughing at everyone else, we still had power haha. Its funny because in my neck of the woods, out in the boonies, we usually lose power every time the wind blows and to see what problems everyone else was having, I just had to laugh.
