It was an elaborate hoax so the US would win the "space race" against Russia at the time. We wanted to be the first ones to walk on the moon, we knew there was no way to actually do it, so we shot it on a movie soundstage and slowed the tape down to make it look real. I'd bet my life on it.
There are never any stars in ANY of the photos from the moon.
The sun is the only light source on the moon, yet shadows are seen going in 2, sometimes 3 different directions. That's impossible unless there was another light source.
Several backdrops of rock formations are exactly identical, even though the astronauts clamied the photos were taken miles apart from each other.
There's no blast crater from the lunar lander taking off or landing. That's absolutely impossible.
The US flag waves, even though there is no air on the moon.
These are just a few of the obvious reasons we never went there. Google "moon landing hoax" if you want more info.
I'm convinced it was a hoax.

Although my wife's father performed fuel calculations for the original Apollo landing, I'll spare you that speech. Instead, I will encourage you to watch two programs. The first show is called Conspiracy Moon Landing that it currently showing on the National Geographic Channel and it pretty much obliterates all of the popular conspiracy theories.
I would also encourage you to watch a movie called Capricorn One. Made it 1978, it is a fictional story about a fake mission to Mars. Although it is a science fiction story, it is a good example of how utterly impossible it would be to fake a moon landing for any length of time.
12 men walked on the moon from 1969 to 1972 and we have neither the resources nor the technology to pull off that big of a hoax for so long. Hundreds of thousands of people have worked on the space program. It would be far easier to put someone on the moon than to try and fake it and keep it secret for nearly 40 years.
The landings came at a time when our space program was ultra competitive with the former Soviet Union. Remember how big of a deal it was when Sputnik was put into orbit? They had the technology to monitor our moon shots and transmissions. Don't you think they would have called us out if they had evidence that it was all fake?
Perhaps the most definitive proof of our trip to the moon is what we left behind. For the last 35+ years, scientists have been beaming lasers to the moon and measuring the return times. How are they doing this? The beams are reflected back by equipment left on the moon on at 3 different locations.
Case closed.

Of course he walked on the moon. You must be pretty stupid not to believe that. The first time it happened it might have been debatable, but even then don't you think the Soviet Union would have been there at every step just waiting for US to mess up and declare to the whole world that it didn't happen? C'mon...
Look into this little thing called telescope... Been around for quite a bit now... I'm looking over these answers and can't believe the stupidity of some of them? No stars and galaxy and universe, just cause you can't touch them? What do you think you see when you go outside at night??? Are the scientists projecting the sky on to a big screen just for you??? WOW... No words...

Of course it was a hoax....NASA cannot find the film.
Get real. We did land on the moon. It is a great achievment. We need to go back and colonize the moon. However, should not this question be in science?

Please, not this one again. Do you know how idiotic you sound? Watch Ron Howard's Apollo 13. That crew didn't make it to the moon. Don't you think if the first flight had been a hoax, the Apollo 13 astronauts and NASA would have pretended they had made it there? Man oh man oh man.

Does anyone really care any more?
Cant they just send a satelite now to orbit the moon and point to the landing sites to finish this endless debate. With so many spinning round the earth capable of counting the pimples on a gnats b*m, surely thay can spare one..

All of us who walk on two legs believe that men walked on the moon. Crawl on over to a book every once in a while.

I really don't know, I have always thought it was a hoax and I can tell you my grandpa (when alive) always swore that it was a hoax and well....believe it or not, he was psychic and he would have known as on the night before Princess Diana died, he dreamt about it and told us as soon as he awoke, sure enough we turned on the TV...and there, was the news!
