This is comparing apples to oranges.
Hellsing is a dark, brooding sort of anime. The artwork is Gothic, and there is very little comic relief.
Trigun is brooding in a much lighter vein. The artwork is less natural-looking, and there is a lot more comedy and less slaughter than in Hellsing.
I like them both, but for different reasons.

I can agree that the art in Hellsing is better than Trigun but the Hellsing series has a lot of plot holes and really doesn't resolve any conflicts with the story line. Trigun has very good character development and it has a solid ending to the series.
Trigun has action, comedy, and drama. Vash is easy to relate to and the other characters have good back stories and are very unique. It is kinda campy and slow moving at times, but the story is original and fresh.
Hellsing has great animation and art work. The story line is all over the place at times and it doesn't resolve the series. The characters have some back story but not enough to really relate to them. The story is the same crap we've seen before Vampire under human control used to kill vampires. That has a very easy to spot twist in the plot.
My vote goes to Trigun.

Oh man...what a position. I love both, Trigun was awesome with all the characters and they're development, not to mention the humor in it, and the show was enjoyable (though I still think the manga is better ><). I also think the Hellsing manga is better than the series but the art is the anime is better than Trigun and Alucard/Arucard is a one of a kind character...hmmm....I guess I'd have to go with Trigun just because I feel in love with Wolfwood. ^^

I say Hellsing for the art, and the OVA episodes were well-developed in plot, I think...

Trigun is better for character development in the actual show, and there are no plot holes, as there are with Hellsing. For me it's a tie as well...

trigun projects a good hero while hellsing shows a dark hero. cant really compare coz you dont have any similarity in character plot or animation or even series length. i like both the same way

I like both. Hellsing has Vampires. Trigun is funny. But both have Big tall guys that have big red cotes.

Character develoment is better in Trigun....But the art is better in Helsing. Helsing was short and kinda left you hanging. Trigun pretty much ended the series. Actually I like them both, so for me it's a tie.
