I use a pretty basic microphone to talk to people on yahoo, but when I use it to call a person's cell phone, I have to practically scream into and the other person can't even hear me. If there's anyway to make the sound...louder I guess, knowing that would be awesome. I'm on an hp laptop is that makes any difference.

stop using yahew and use skype. the sound quality is vastly superior. short of that, get a new sound card or a new mic.
