Picture her naked (like you're giving a speech). Don't look at her chest though. That's kind of a turn off for most women for some reason.

Write it down, then call her or go see her and tell her that you are reading
to her and then read what you have written.
You probably won't finish - I hope it starts a conversation, but at least
it will get you started.
And if you can't bring yourself to make that call ... well, then send the letter.
That is the *LAST* resort, however.
The chances of misunderstanding get progressively lower as the
bandwidth drops:
Face-to-face: Best
Teleconference
Phone call
Instant Messaging
E-Mail
Text messaging
Letter: Worst
Actually, e-mail and text messaging might be worse than a letter, only
in that people tend time to craft letters, perhaps writing them by hands, etc.
It is a personal thing, perhaps with tear stains or perfume.
However, face-to-face is easily the best.

If it's really impossible I'd write her a really long letter. It's the next best thing to seeing someone in face because it took time out of your day to hand write it out, get an envelope, mail it and such. It's much more meaningful than an im or email. Plus in a letter you can have the opportunity to phrase what you want in just the right way and on the phone you can't take anything back!

Write her a letter or a email. You can just simply let her know how you feel about the friendship. And you can tell her if she is agreed, give you a call or something.

Hmm, everyone seems to dodge the obvious answer. It's all about confidence and being mature that is what being an adult is all about.
Remember its not what you say, but how you say it. But if you know you need to tell something to someone do it politely and direct - keep it to the point. Keep it positive and never indirectly insult anyone, keep their feeling in mind.

Try taking a picnic or similar outing, so you are both relaxed. And then very calmly and gently bring up what you want to say to her. Its not easy, but in the long run it is much kinder to your friend to face up to her and talk to her directly.

What I do is, without hesitation I just say what is needed to be said without even thinking or second guessing, I just blurt out what ever I need to say and whatever happens, happens. Let it out in the open. Get it off your chest. It'll feel good. Trust me.
