Too many to list here! I was fascinated by mythology when I was a boy, so I've read much about mythologies of many nations. In China, there are lung and meng that are royal and lesser dragon. They also have the feng similar to the European phoenix. In Greece, there are too many to list, but I'll discuss a few. The chimaera had the body and head of a lion and a huge snake for a tail. A goat head is often shown on the back. Typhon was a gigantic monster who scared most of the gods. His one hundred heads of many types touched the sky. Zeus king of the gods fought this monster and was trapped in its serpent coils. Typhon disabled Zeus by cutting out the sinews in his limbs. Sly Hermes recovered them, and Zeus won the rematch. He threw the island of Sicly upon Typhon, and he still lies there burning from Zeus' thunderbolts. The smoke pours from Mt. Etna. I could write a book about many more creatures. In Norse myths we have Jormungand the serpent who encircles the Earth and his brother Fenris the hugest of all wolves. When he opens his mouth, the botton jaw touches the earth and the top one touches the sky. Thor and Odin must fight these monsters when the grim day of Ragnarok or Gotterdammerung arrives. I wish I had more time.
